2 v 1 Ashleworth
Ashleworth had to defend strongly in
the first 5 minutes with Mitchledean going close
twice to scoring.
In the 9th
minute Rhys Hughes put two strong challenges in and the ball ran to Josh
Preston who used
his good pace to run clear of the
defence and he slotted the ball home from 6 yards. Ashleworth
then
conceded a goal in the 11th
minute when a scramble in the goalmouth was not cleared and the Mitchledean
striker scored from
8 yards through a crowded area. Just one minute later Mitchledean
scored again after
good work down the left hand side.
In the second
half the game was end to end, Ashley Davis controlled the midfield and stopped
many
Mitchledean attacks. Jack Edgington put in numerous last gasp tackles in defence to
keep the score at 2-1.

Mitchledean 2 v 0 Ashleworth
Ashleworth conceded two goals in the first 6 minutes but rallied to hold the Mitchledean side thereafter. Conner Parslow was outstanding in defence along with Harry Benfield whos tackling was superb. Jack Dean and John Fish also tackled well in midfield throughout the match. It was a much better performance in the second half by Ashleworth . Guy Buist and Robert Hawkins both worked hard despite picking up knocks in the second half. Hannah Richards played her usual strong tackling game and kept running untill the final whistle. Keeper Ryan Sheppard controlled his area well and Ben Wheeler came back to help his defence many times during the game.
